MEDICARE BULK BILLING
Eye examinations at Park Ridge Eyewear are bulk billed directly to Medicare for eligible patients. This means there is no out-of-pocket cost for your eye examination if you hold a valid Medicare card and meet the eligibility requirements. Bulk billing makes it straightforward for families, pensioners and concession card holders to access regular eye care without financial barriers.
Eligible patients include Medicare card holders who have not had a bulk-billed eye examination within the required timeframe. Our team can confirm your eligibility when you call to make an appointment.
SPECTACLE SUPPLY SCHEME
The Spectacle Supply Scheme (SSS) is a Queensland government programme that provides subsidised or fully funded glasses to eligible concession card holders. Park Ridge Eyewear is a registered Spectacle Supply Scheme provider, and we assist eligible patients through the application and supply process from start to finish.

THERAPEUTIC PRESCRIPTIONS
Our optometrists are therapeutically endorsed, meaning they hold an advanced qualification that allows them to prescribe medications for eye conditions where clinically required. This is a higher level of clinical capability than standard optometry and means that many patients can have their eye conditions assessed, diagnosed and treated within our practice without the need for a separate referral to a medical specialist.
Therapeutic prescriptions may be appropriate for conditions including eye infections, inflammation, allergic eye disease and other conditions requiring pharmacological management. Our therapeutically endorsed optometrists will always discuss the most appropriate course of treatment with you and refer to other specialists where required.
